Bloomington Community "C" Hockey Program

The Bloomington Community "C" (or Recreational) hockey program was established to allow the youth in Bloomington to learn and play hockey in a recreational environment while participating in other winter activities.

The "C" program is available to all youth in Bloomington from Squirts through Jr. Gold B, also known as 16U.     The program is a good starting point for youth that may have become interested in playing hockey at a later age.  The C program does not conduct tryouts.  All players are accepted into the program, although players are encouraged to tryout for the Jefferson and Kennedy A and B levels if they desire.

The Community "C" level participates in 16 District 6 Hockey games, as well as tournaments in and out of town during the months of October through February.

Practice and games are approximately 2-3 times a week giving the players an opportunity for 40 – 50 hours of ice time during the season.

Program Overview:

  • Rec “C” hockey is developmental hockey, following the Equal/Fair Play rules as defined by Minnesota Hockey.
  • There will be no cuts in "C" hockey; however, there are limits to the sizes of the teams.                          All teams will be filled on a first-come, first-registered basis.
  • Ice Time – Ability to add practice ice time, with sponsorship.
  • Games – teams play District 6 games.
  • Tournaments (1 paid for through registration, 1 hosted at BIG, ability to play in additional tourney with sponsor or collected team funds).
  • Jerseys – paid for through registration fee.
  • Equipment – goalie equipment is provided, skaters provide their own equipment.
